This 19th century French school oil painting depicts a man in military attire, believed to be an infantry officer in the National Guard during the reign of King Louis-Philippe. The subject is portrayed with a handsome appearance, featuring blue eyes, a mustache, and dressed in a dark blue coat adorned with scarlet details, epaulettes, and silver grenadier buttons.
Painted by an unknown artist and circa 1830, this piece has been recently relined and professionally restored. It comes with its original and rare gilt wood, gesso, and sand textured frame, making it a valuable addition to any collection of military portraits or 19th century decor.
